This is the second purchase of Hannel for my adult daughter. Last year my daughter and myself purchased the Hannel sandal in dark brown at a great price. A previous sandal (maybe Harmony, zebra?) was completely worn out (she's very rough on things). I've worn the Hannel for years and have never even seen that layer on any of my previous purchases. So it was time to just throw those out (she had worn them for many years) and replace them. I would describe the colour as more beige than warm grey. It's a nice neutral colour and would go with any outfit in my opinion.

THE PROPER FIT FACTOR
You may have never experienced properly fitting footwear; it may be that Mephisto will fit differently than any shoe you have ever worn. This is a common experience and it should be noted that proper fit is critical to comfort. With walking, it is important to give your toes a substantial degree of freedom. They should never be “locked in”, one against another. Mephisto shoes should provide plenty of room in the toe area. The same thinking applies to your heel. The Mephisto heel is not designed to fit snug. A comfortable walking shoe will flex and bend with your foot. Your foot should be cradled, not bound. A properly fitting shoe should not have to be “broken in” to be comfortable…they should be comfortable from the very first step you take.
Sizing
Sizing can vary from style to style which means you may not wear the same size in all your shoes. Also, our sandals are available in full sizes only. If you are normally a half size in a Mephisto shoe, you should size up to the next size.
